On Sunday, March 2, 2025 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Lake Country RCMP responded to a single vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision that occurred on Highway 97 between Pelmewash Parkway and Wall Road. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene while the pedestrian was taken to sa国际传媒 General Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
鈥淭his portion of highway was closed temporarily to allow for an RCMP collision analyst to attend and collect the necessary data,鈥 says Cpl. Michael Gauthier Media Relations Officer in a Monday press release. 鈥淭he highway has since reopened and we thank the public for their patience.鈥
The name, age and gender of the victim has not been identified.
鈥淚f any members of the public witnessed or have dash camera footage of the collision and have not yet spoken with police, we are asking them to please come forward and contact the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288 while referencing file number 2025-11063.鈥
