Three cheers for Kevin Falcon!
Dear Editor:
I just wanted to express my thanks to Kevin Falcon, for suspending the BC United campaign and throwing his support behind the BC Conservatives. It was a courageous and unselfish decision and I鈥檓 sure, a difficult one.
Falcon was able to choose the future and success of our province over his own ambitions and I hope those who were running for BC United do so as well.
Now, for those of us who desire an end to the NDPs radical, top-down governance and job-killing policies, the choice is clear. The NDP will try to make hay on the fact that some Conservative candidates have strange ideas, keep in mind, in every party including the NDP, who have their own share of radicals, itsa国际传媒 up to the leader to keep them in control.

Wisdom from Robert Kennedy
Dear Editor:
American philosopher Thomas Sowell stated, 鈥淚t is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.鈥
It is indeed futile to address the many false narratives and outright lies proclaimed by a biased legacy media that far too many people merely sop up as reality. The rigged 鈥淪tar Chamber鈥 lawfare launched against Donald Trump would require a lengthy exposition.
Concerning the current political machinations south of the border, well over 80 million Americans are in strong support of the Trump/Vance Republican ticket... and that number is growing.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is one such recent supporter.
RFK Jr.sa国际传媒 statements on the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris and his support of Trumpsa国际传媒 candidacy should be reflected on and heeded by those wishing to understand what is at stake in the U.S. Republic.
Kennedy stated, 鈥淒emocrats have become the party of war, censorship, corruption, big pharma, big tech, big ag, and big money wanting to abandon democracy by canceling the primary to conceal the cognitive decline of the sitting president. The DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for VP Harris based upon nothing. No policies, no interviews, no debates. Only smoke and mirrors. A Chicago circus that is based on nothing. Who needs a policy if you hate Donald Trump?鈥
As an aside, on the first night of the Dems pep rally some attendees pointed out that Trump was mentioned over a hundred times and inflation was mentioned three times. While the Democrat elite, the Obamas, Hillary and Oprah offered nothing more than their hatred of Trump, the former president on the other hand travelled to a Pennsylvania machine tool plant to outline substantive new proposals for the use of small nuclear reactors, and for cutting the cost of energy in half by drilling and by building dozens of new power plants.
RFK Jr. and Trump have their differing opinions, however on his endorsement of Trump, Kennedy continued, 鈥淏ut we are aligned with each other on other key issues like ending the forever wars, ending the childhood disease epidemics, securing the border, protecting freedom of speech, unraveling the corporate capture of our regulatory agencies, getting the U.S. intelligence agencies out of the business of propagandizing and censoring and surveilling Americans and interfering with our elections.鈥
Trump Derangement Syndrome adversely affects rational inquiry.

Embracing more humanistic values
Dear Editor:
A Baptist church in Surrey has corrected more than a decade of prejudice against a gay couple in its congregation.
For years, the two men, who married in 2008 and now have daughter, sat at the back of the church, excluded from the congregation at large. The church has now switched its affiliation to a more inclusive religious group, adopting a more welcoming approach to the LGBTQ+ community.
We at the sa国际传媒 Atheists, Skeptics, and Humanists Association applaud the Church at Southpoint in Surrey for its collective decision to embrace more humanistic values. It is commendable to stand up for your communitysa国际传媒 well being against the judgment of your organizational peers.
Some people, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community, continue to face exclusion and judgment within religious circles.
This is inconsistent with the policies of inclusiveness our society upholds.
The Church at Southpointsa国际传媒 willingness to evolve is a shining example of what can be achieved when compassion and understanding take precedence over exclusion and division. We encourage religious organizations in sa国际传媒 and the broader Okanagan region to follow that example and open their doors -- and their hearts -- to all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or identity.
Studies consistently show that the number of Canadians who claim a religious affiliation is in decline. From sa国际传媒sa国际传媒 2021 census, 54% of sa国际传媒 residents claimed no religious affiliation.
Itsa国际传媒 important to remember that sa国际传媒sa国际传媒 religious facilities often benefit from significant public subsidies, such as exemptions from property taxes.
As such, they have a responsibility to reflect the strong values of inclusivity and respect that our communities strive to embody.
Let us work together to build a more inclusive and compassionate community where everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, feels welcome and respected.
